DESCRIPTION:Anti-Poverty Week will be held from 15th to 21st October\, coinciding with the UN International Day to End Poverty on 17th October. \nThe aims of the Week as you know are to \n– Strengthen public understanding of the causes and consequences of poverty and hardship around the world and in Australia; and \n– Encourage research\, discussion and action to address these problems\, including action by individuals\, communities\, organisations and governments. \nEveryone is encouraged to help reduce poverty and hardship by organising an activity during the Week or taking part in an activity organised by others. \nPoverty and severe hardship affect more than a million Australians. \nAround the world\, more than a billion people are desperately poor. \nTo get involved\, please visit: http://www.antipovertyweek.org.au/resources/promotional-materials \n
