DESCRIPTION:This course is subsidised through S.A. Government. Eligibility and subsidy criteria apply. To check your eligibility visit www.skills.sa.gov.au. \nThis course is delivered mostly online but does have requirements for face-to-face\, in classroom days. These are available in Adelaide (Hindmarsh) only. \nGain a broad qualification\, offering an excellent pathway to work in a variety of community settings or community-based programs. Learn to design and deliver person-centred services to individuals or groups\, use effective communication to build therapeutic relationships\, and understand the legal requirements and ethics of a worker. \nWorkers may provide support\, advocacy or interventions to individual clients\, groups or communities across a range of services. The number of Welfare Support Workers is expected to grow strongly over the next 5 years. Over 50 occupations fall under the community work banner including intake\, support\, case work\, crisis intervention\, team management and advocacy. SA Government subsidies are available for eligible applicants.  \nKey issues common to all areas of community work such as\, mental health\, family and domestic violence and working with diversity are covered. The electives chosen for this training program reflect the skills and knowledge required by workers to provide effective frontline responses. \n
