DESCRIPTION:\n\nFamilies Australia\, supported by the Australian Government Department of Social Services\, is hosting the 6th Child Aware Conference at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre\, 16-17 May 2019.\n\nThe conference aims to advance the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children\, the National Plan to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children\, and the well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.\n\nThought leaders will stimulate discussion on how to make Australia an even better place for children and young people now and into the future. Presentations will cover five key themes:\n\nImproving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children\nImproving access to prevention and early intervention\nImproving placement stability for children and young people in out-of-home care\nKeeping children and young people safe from abuse\nStrengthening our focus on well-being beyond 2020\n\nThe conference will be interactive to promote sharing of ideas about furthering the national policy agenda and developing new solutions to complex issues affecting children\, young people and their families. \n
