SUMMARY:Difficult Conversations-How To Talk to Anyone About Almost Anything eWorkshop 7-Mar-2022
DESCRIPTION:This 3 hour eWorkshop is for any staff who may have difficult conversations with clients\, other service providers or work colleagues. \nThe eWorkshop will cover: \n\n\nhow to structure a difficult conversation and find a positive purpose; \n\n\nthe importance of empathy and when not to empathise; \n\n\nkeeping the conversation on track; \n\n\nusing language that does not create resistance; \n\n\nrecognising when not to have a difficult conversation and how to leave a conversation that may be unhelpful; \n\n\ngaining agreement with the other party and; \n\n\nmaking a plan for the future. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt the end of the training the participants will have: \n• Developed their skills in preparing for a difficult conversation \n• Have extended their knowledge and skills in how to structure a difficult conversation. \n• Expanded their knowledge and developed their skills in using language that does not create resistance in the other party or parties \n• Have developed their capacity to be flexible in responding to the capacity and needs of the other party or parties when having a difficult conversation. \nThe topics covered in the eWorkshop will be tailored to the needs of the group and could include:  delivering difficult news to individuals and families; supporting individuals who may be distressed; difficult performance conversations; responding to the difficult behaviour of another person; responding when another person criticises you; personality clashes in the workplace; when to engage in mediation and when not to engage in mediation; difficult conversations in close relationships\, among many other possible topics. \nWhen: Monday\, 7th March 2022 from 9:30am to 12.30pm. \nWhere: Online eWorkshop via Zoom. If payment has been received\, you will receive the Zoom details in the week prior to the eWorkshop . \nCost: The early bird booking is $195.00 (GST incl) if registered before 22nd February 2022\, after the 22nd February the Full Price is $250.00 (GST incl). Payment is required before attending the eWorkshop. \nTo register: Register and complete payment. A Tax Invoice will be emailed to you. The payment needs to be completed before the workshop occurs\, for the registration to be fully confirmed. \nFacilitator: David Cherry\, Clinical and Forensic Psychologist who has been working for 40 years. \nDavid has run training on difficult conversations for staff in the health\, welfare\, education\, aged care\, disability and homelessness sectors for over 30 years.  David has a particular interest in how our communication style affects our interaction with others and its impact on outcomes in any discussion or negotiation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
