DESCRIPTION:This workshop allows workers\, organisations or networks of services to provide more effective programs to men and families. The workshop explores the importance of the fathers’ role in family services and how programs can engage and support this opportunity. \nThe workshop focuses on: \n\nunderstanding what men might want when accessing community services\nusing strengths based approaches when working with fathers\nengaging men’s in child protection and family based programs\nexploring skills used to work with men in a non-threatening way and modelling effective\, respectful and inclusive communication when working with men\nworking with fathers to increase their engagement in their children’s lives\nengaging fathers using the father inclusive practice and the generative framework\neffective ways for female workers to work with fathers.\n\nWhen: Thursday\, 28 July 2016 from 9.30am to 4.30pm. \nWhere: Training Room\, Anglicare Shoalhaven\, 47 West Street\, Nowra NSW \nCost: The early bird booking is $242.00 before 28th June (GST included). The fee for registrations after the 28th June is $297.00 (GST included). Morning tea and lunch are provided. \nTo register: Register and complete payment below. A Tax Invoice will be emailed to you. The payment needs to be completed before the workshop occurs\, for the registration to be fully confirmed. \nFacilitator: Andrew King \nAndrew King is a consultant trainer and program developer in group work\, working with men and strengths based practice. He is a specialist trainer in group work and trains professionals throughout Australia in ‘working with men’. He is also an experienced practitioner and has published a range of professional articles who has worked in adolescent drug and alcohol and young people with a mental illness programs and coordinated a large fathers’ centre. Andrew’s work career has involved working with teenagers who have drug and alcohol problems\, young people with a mental health issues\, parenting education\, coordinating a fathers’ centre and managing training for professionals interested in group work or working with men. \n
