SUMMARY:Mediating with Rainbow Families
DESCRIPTION:Grow your skills and confidence working with rainbow families in this interactive workshop. Participants will learn about reflective practice skills and increase their capacity for inclusive mediation.\n\n  \nLearning outcomes\nAt the end of this workshop\, you’ll be able to demonstrate: \n\nknowledge of the kind of reflective practice required to work with rainbow families\nawareness of family structures and family formation\nincreased confidence with appropriate pronoun use\nknowledge of family law specific to lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, intersex\, queer\, asexual and other sexually and gender diverse (LGBTIQA+) people\, related to areas such as defacto/divorce matters\, property settlement\, child support and family violence\nskills and strategies for creating a safe and welcoming environment for rainbow families.\n\n  \nIdeal for\nFamily dispute resolution practitioners\, counsellors\, family therapists\, and parent-adolescent mediators. \n  \nAbout the presenters\nNatasha Belmont is a family dispute resolution practitioner\, mediator\, restorative engagement facilitator\, trainer and clinical psychologist in training. She holds tertiary qualifications in law and psychology. Natasha has worked for Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) in a variety of roles\, including leading the Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) and mediation training programs. She has also worked for the Women’s Legal Service as an education and engagement coordinator. She is also involved with various government departments at the state and federal levels for dispute resolution processes and works in private practice. \nAdrien March is a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) with a broad base of skills and experience\, including mediation practice\, training and dispute resolution research. Her practice experience covers mediating using facilitative and transformative models in the Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) and Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS) schemes. Adrien’s specialisations include working with rainbow families and high-conflict disputes. Her training expertise includes course development and conducting FDR and NMAS training\, coaching and evaluation for RAV and other organisations. \n  \nRegistration information\n\nWhen you register\, you’ll be taken to our payment gateway to complete your registration.
