SUMMARY:Online workshop: Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
DESCRIPTION:Learn strategies to help clients re-script their narratives and focus on their core values and behaviours.\nNarrative therapy is a technique that aims to separate the individual from the problem\, allowing them to externalise their issues rather than internalising them. It relies on the individual’s own skills and sense of purpose to guide them through challenging times. \nSolution-Focused Brief Therapy is a short-term\, evidence-based therapeutic approach which focuses on helping clients to achieve their goals. Incorporating positive psychology principles and practices\, it is designed to help clients change their thoughts and behaviour by building solutions rather than focusing on problems. This approach provides a hope friendly\, positive emotion-eliciting\, future-oriented vehicle to help clients formulate\, motivate\, achieve\, and sustain desired behavioural change. \n\n\n  \n\nLearning outcomes\nAt the end of this workshop\, you’ll be able to: \n\napply the underlying theoretical frameworks and principles of Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy as therapeutic models and understand their applications.\napply these approaches and techniques to help clients to make meaningful change.\nunderstand where and when these approaches may be useful for clients and integrating parts of the model in practice.\n\n\n\n  \n\nIdeal for\nClinicians\, social workers\, community organisation workers\, health professionals\, youth workers\, child and family workers and counsellors at any level of experience. \n\n\n  \n\nAbout the presenter\nJeff Roberts is a clinical psychologist with more than 15 years’ experience in counselling across a variety of mental health settings in Australia and overseas.
