DESCRIPTION:Did you know that research has found that the most common length of psychotherapy in Australia is a single session? \nSingle Session Thinking (SST) is a therapeutic approach which has evolved on the premise that the first psychotherapy session is potentially the most therapeutic and has the greatest influence on outcomes. It also operates on the assumption that the first session may be the only session that the client attends. \nIn this workshop\, you will gain an overview of effective strategies that you can utilise when supporting clients in brief therapy. \nLearning outcomes \nAt the end of this workshop\, you’ll be able to: \n\ndemonstrate foundational knowledge of the key features of Single Session Thinking\narticulate the strengths and difficulties of utilising Single Session Thinking in clinical practice\nunderstand the basic skills required to translate knowledge of Single Session Thinking into practice\nimplement strategies to maximise therapeutic impact within a single session by focusing on client priorities and immediate needs\nassess client progress and outcomes effectively in brief therapy settings\, ensuring that clients leave with actionable insights or solutions.\n\nIdeal for \nClinicians\, social workers\, community organisation workers\, health professionals\, youth workers\, child and family workers and counsellors at any level of experience. \nAbout the presenter \nMaria Gullaci is an experienced trainer with Relationships Australia Victoria\, bringing 16 years of expertise in the Integrated Family Services and Family Violence Sector. Her extensive career includes roles such as case manager\, senior practitioner\, group facilitator\, family violence consultant\, clinical supervisor\, and Team Leader of Family Violence Services.
