SUMMARY:Transitioning into Leadership
DESCRIPTION:A workshop to support new and emerging leaders in the community services sector to step confidently into leadership roles and inspire others as you make your next career move.\nIn this online workshop\, we’ll focus on building effective leadership skills\, transitioning smoothly into the leadership space and managing challenges inherent in these roles. We’ll take a 360-degree view on leadership which includes you\, your manager\, your team\, and organisation or workplace. \nWhat you’ll learn\nAt the end of this workshop\, you’ll have the knowledge and skills to: \n\nundertake an effective transition into a leadership role that inspires people\nexplain the difference between leading and managing\, including when and why you need to do both\nmanage competing priorities\nmaster the art of ‘managing up’\nwork strategically within existing systems.\n\nWho is this workshop for?\nNew and emerging leaders working in the community services sector\, and those wanting to enhance their management and leadership skills. \nAbout the presenters\nAstrid Horter is the program leader for learning delivery at the Centre of Learning and Innovation. She holds tertiary qualifications in law and psychology and is an experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP)\, mediator and child consultant. Astrid leads the delivery of RAV’s accredited training programs\, provides supervision to external organisations and designs and facilitates customised workshops. She has extensive experience working in community organisations as a clinical supervisor\, trainer and manager. \nCath Tregillis is a highly experienced FDRP qualified in dispute resolution and family therapy. She has held diverse roles across community organisations as a manager\, clinical supervisor\, and trainer\, providing mediation and restorative processes in family\, community\, and workplace settings.
