SUMMARY:Trauma Informed Practice: Interviewing Clients in Relation to Difficult Events and Difficult Circumstances eWorkshop
DESCRIPTION:Trauma informed practices guide workers in supporting clients in difficult circumstances. They also assist workers to manage their own stress and distress. \nMany workers in many different settings have to interview clients in regard to difficult events in their lives or in relation to difficult circumstances (for example events in the client’s past\, child protection concerns\, disputes with neighbours). This can occur at intake as well as during ongoing work with a client. \nWorkers frequently find the anticipation of these interviews difficult as well finding the interviews themselves a source of distress. In addition\, workers are\, quite reasonably\, concerned about the impact on clients of interviews where difficult events in their lives or difficult circumstances are discussed. \nThis eWorkshop is aimed at developing the skills of the participants in conducting interviews with a particular focus on interviews where difficult events in the client’s life may be discussed and/or difficult circumstances in a way that is consistent with trauma informed practices. \nAt the end of the eWorkshop the participants will: \n\n\nHave extended their skills in conducting any type of interview \n\n\nHave developed their skills in planning interviews in regard to difficult events and difficult circumstances in a way that is respectful of the client and their needs \n\n\nHave enhanced their skills in supporting clients during potentially difficult interviews \n\n\nHave extended their skills in providing support to clients following difficult interviews \n\n\nHave greater knowledge and skill in ensuring their own well-being in the workplace \n\n\nWhen: Wednesday\, 16th February 2022 from 9:30am to 12.30pm. \nWhere: Online eWorkshop via Zoom. If payment has been received\, you will receive the Zoom details in the week prior to the eWorkshop . \nCost: The early bird booking is $195.00 (GST incl) if registered before 2nd February 2022\, after the 2nd February the Full Price is $250.00 (GST incl).
