DESCRIPTION:Build confidence in supporting clients through complicated grief and bereavement.\nGrief is a universal experience\, but the way it is expressed and processed varies greatly from person to person. This interactive workshop is designed for professionals in education\, health\, and care roles who want to gain expertise in the field of grief and bereavement. You’ll gain knowledge\, skills\, and resources for providing compassionate and effective bereavement care and support to clients across a range of services. \n  \nWhat you’ll learn\nBy the end of this workshop\, you will be able to: \n\nunderstand how complicated grief and loss can present differently for different people\ndistinguish between typical bereavement and complicated grief\nidentify the symptoms and clinical features associated with complicated grief\ndevelop skills for recognising and assessing grief\ndevelop communication skills for engaging confidently and sensitively with grieving clients\napply strategies for supporting clients who are navigating complicated grief and bereavement\nrecognise the importance of practitioner self-care and how to apply it.\n\nWho is this workshop for?\nThis training is ideal for clinicians\, social workers\, community organisation workers\, health professionals\, youth workers\, child and family workers\, and counsellors with any level of experience. \n  \nAbout the presenter\nLinda Russell is a highly accomplished psychologist\, counsellor\, and educator registered with the Australian Psychological Society and the Mental Health Professionals Network. Bringing a wealth of experience\, Linda excels in providing compassionate counselling services to individuals and couples. Beyond her clinical practice\, she is a dedicated educator\, having provided training and professional development to numerous community agencies. Linda’s commitment to professional growth and community engagement is further demonstrated through her involvement in community development projects\, education activities\, and providing supervision to colleagues and students.
