SUMMARY:Webinar: Research into Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
DESCRIPTION:Family law professionals continue to become more and more aware of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).\nIn this webinar\, participants will be given an opportunity to review the original and subsequent classifications of ACEs. \nThe presenter will also discuss the importance of understanding: \n\nwhat is happening for children whose parents are going through FDR\nthe lived experiences of parents when they themselves were young adults\nhow to use these understandings in the family dispute resolution (FDR) process.\n\n\n  \nLearning outcomes\nParticipants will gain confidence in: \n\ndescribing the classifications of ACEs\nspeaking to parties about ACEs\ndeveloping strategies to share with parties to mitigate the effects of ACEs.\n\n\n  \nIdeal for\nFamily law practitioners\, family dispute resolution practitioners\, family workers\, health and community practitioners and individual counsellors/therapists. \n\n  \nAbout the presenter\nTimothy McMichael is a Senior Manager and Change Leader. He has significant experience establishing and supporting a range of differing services for various NGOs across New Zealand. \nHe’s also a contributing writer for Lexis Nexis\, Resolution Expert for Our Family Wizard and an active FDR practitioner and parenting coordinator. \nTimothy was the winner of the 2020 NZ Local Heroes Awards and the 2017 NZ Law Awards Mediator of the Year and was the winner of the Resolution Institute 2015 Practitioner Award for Significant Contribution to Dispute Resolution for the development and promotion of dispute resolution in his community. \nTimothy was also a runner up for Mediator of the Year in the 2015 and 2019 NZ Law Awards. \n  \nFormat\n75 minutes of content and 15 minutes of moderated Q&As. \n  \nRegistration information\nRegistrations close 48 hours before the webinar start time. \nIf paying by invoice\, proof of payment needs to be provided at least 24 hours ahead of the event. \nIn addition to the live event link\, all registrants will receive a link to the webinar recording post-event. \nWhen you click to book\, you will be taken to our new and improved payment gateway.
