These are available Adelaide (Hindmarsh) only.  \nGraduate with skills to effectively design and deliver community service programs.  \nLearn to support\, empower\, advocate for and inspire clients\, to make a real impact on the lives of vulnerable people. Gain the specialised skills in community services to effectively manage\, coordinate or deliver person-centred services to individuals\, groups and communities.   \nThis qualification will prepare you to assess clients\, and link them in with services\, support systems and networks to address the immediate and long-term client needs. To undertake case management\, you will learn how to monitor client progress and help them deal with obstacles or issues if they arise.  \nAt this level\, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management\, program coordination or the development of new service and program opportunities. \nThis qualification will ensure that areas of commonality are highlighted across community services work\, including the design and development of person-centred services and programs\, the management of issues related to community services work and community engagement including human resource management and supervision of others. \nGraduate ready to provide direct support to individuals or groups\, case management\, program coordination or the development of new service and program opportunities. We will help you understand how to navigate and manage legal and ethical compliance frameworks\, policies and procedures.  \n

To understand your obligations under the VET Student Loans program please see this document here\, which includes information on the application process\, ongoing student obligations\, and how to cease accessing a VSL. \nThis course is delivered 100% online with in-house educator support available – no classroom attendance is required. \nHelp support and advocate for people in financial difficulty.  \nGain the skills and knowledge required to work as a financial counsellor\, supporting people in need within a community legal or community services organisation. Financial counsellors have specialist knowledge of legal remedies and options to manage debt and financial difficulty\, working as advocates to empower their clients.  \nWorking within a framework of social justice\, financial counselling is a unique blend of counselling and advocacy. Financial counsellors require considerable knowledge in areas of law and policy\, including; consumer credit law\, bankruptcy\, industry hardship policies\, government concession frameworks and debt enforcement practices.  \nThis qualification is not related to the work performed by financial planners or financial advisers whose role is to provide clients with strategies to address their investment options and require a financial services licence for their work under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2010. This qualification is also not appropriate for financial capability workers. \nSeparate from the work of financial planners or advisers or therapeutic counsellors\, the title of ‘counsellor’ reflects the way in which other issues may interact with financial issues. Psychological issues\, which affect individuals\, families and groups\, such as; gambling\, substance abuse\, child abuse and mental or physical health problems\, require informed responses from financial counsellors and referral to appropriate professional support.  \nThis qualification reflects the role of financial counsellors working in a variety of agencies that meet the requirements for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) exemption from a financial services or credit licence under ASIC class order 10/1063. Financial counsellors work across a variety of metropolitan\, rural and remote settings. \nThough this course structure does not address the specific learning and assessment requirements for Rural Financial Counsellors\, this option is available.
