SUMMARY:Core Value Therapy (2-days)
DESCRIPTION:Many people describe their experience with emotions like internal thoughts and emotions that often produces mental-ill health. These negative consequences are often blamed on others and are very rarely owned by clients. To encourage a deeper sense of self-discovery for clients the ‘Core Value Therapy’ CVT was developed. \nCVT aims to discover what drives our clients and dominates their thinking/feelings/emotions and behaviours. Core values are often hidden and discovering the core value must be unique to each client. When this occurs real change and deeper understanding can begin to dramatically change a client’s life. \nClients who have completed CVT improve their mental health\, behaviour and their relationships. \nCases will be presented at the workshop to demonstrate a wide variety of beneficial changes that include anger management\, reduction in suicide idealisation\, self-harm\, drug and alcohol recovery\, parenting\, personal and workplace relationships. CVT is ideally suited for therapists\, counsellors\, psychologists and psychiatrists. \nThe workshop includes: \n\nHow to help your clients unlock their core value using CVT model. This uses a strength base problem and solution focus approach and can dramatically improve mental health.\nEnable the practitioner to discover their core value as a self-reflection. This is a voluntary process and is highly recommend. SUMMARY:ANROWS National Research Conference on Violence against Women and their Children: Evidence in Action
DESCRIPTION:\nThe theme for ANROWS’s National Research Conference on Violence against Women and their Children is Evidence in Action.\nThis conference will open up opportunities to explore ideas of impact\, including what works for whom and in what circumstances\, and how we know an initiative has been effective. Coming together with other policy-makers\, practitioners and survivor-advocates\, we will discuss the ways evidence is being applied in policy and practice to reduce violence against women and their children. \nSet over 3 days at the Hilton Adelaide\, the conference will be structured around thematic conversational panels\, each including facilitators with diverse backgrounds and expertise. This format will offer unique opportunities for conference participants to engage in discussion and to contribute to our understanding of “what works”. \nWho should attend?\n\nPractitioners working with sexual assault\, domestic and family violence\, women’s refuges\, judicial support\, and immigrant and refugee services.\nPolicy-makers\, including ministers; senior officials; and executive management from federal\, state and territory governments and agencies\, and local government.\nPeak bodies and networks involved with domestic and family violence services; sexual assault services; strategic Indigenous expertise services; the women’s health sector; CALD\, multicultural\, and migrant services; broader community services; prevention and education.\nAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander support practitioners working to redress the effects of colonisation and/or trans-generational trauma; and leaders in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and law.\nIntervention and service providers working with social services or the legal justice system; and first responders including police\, emergency and medical services.\nResearchers and research organisations focused on criminology\, sociology\, health\, social work\, psychology\, law\, political science and science.\n\n
