SUMMARY:Tough Conversations™ in Child Protection | WEBINAR
DESCRIPTION:A solution based on proven techniques\nTough Conversations in Child Protection is a one-day course for child protection professionals and family workers to help them to hold the often-challenging conversations with parents in child protection. The origin of these child protection workshops arose from a similar series of workshops already being held nationally for school principals. The workshop helps busy professionals to quickly assess and prepare for tough conversations in situations where clarity-of-message can make all the difference for vulnerable families. \nCourses available via webinar and face to face all around Australia\, see website for more dates \n

SUMMARY:Webinar: Trauma Recovery vs. Trauma Resolution - Increasing Options for Client Care
DESCRIPTION:Generally\, what is called “trauma therapy” consists primarily of processing or reviewing the trauma memories by the client in the hopes that resolving the distress of those memories will secure recovery. However\, there is a large portion of traumatised individuals who either can not (because of fragility or instability) or do not want to (due to fear\, financial constraints\, personal preference) revisit the past. In those cases there have\, to date\, been few options available for those clients. In this webinar\, an important distinction between trauma recovery and trauma resolution will be clarified. In addition\, multiple options for recovering from trauma without the necessity of resolving memories will be proposed. \nLearning outcomes\n\nDistinguish between trauma recovery and trauma resolution.\nGain the advantage of “improved quality of life” as the treatment goal.\nDiscuss the importance of individualised treatment options Identify those clients who may or may not benefit from memory processing.\nAcquire tools for trauma recovery without memory processing.\n\n
