DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nThe conference is hosted by SNAICC – National Voice for our Children. SNAICC is the national non-government peak body in Australia representing the interest of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. \nA biennial event\, every two years\, this conference is convened to assist with the achievement of the SNAICC vision: An Australian society in which our communities are empowered to determine their own future; where the rights of our children\, young people and families are protected; where our cultural identity and achievements are valued; and our children and families have access to culturally appropriate services. \nAs the largest conference of its type in the southern hemisphere\, the SNAICC Conference provides the opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations\, policy makers\, researchers\, practitioners\, government representatives\, other non-government organisations and industry representatives to gather to share their work\, learn from one another and make renewed commitments to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe conference provides a powerful and inspiring learning experience for attendees and features: \n\nInternational and local keynote speakers\nOver 70 concurrent sessions\, including panel discussions and workshops\nDisplays\, poster presentations and exhibitors\nCultural highlights and performances\nSocial events and opportunities to network and connect with peers\n\nIt is expected that our 2021 conference will again attract a diverse audience of around 1\,000 participants from all over the country. This will provide a dynamic networking and learning opportunity for attendees. SNAICC aims to develop a program and conference experience that is culturally rich\, interactive and culturally safe. \n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:The No Scaredy Cats™ workshop is based on three underlying perspectives: first\, by having an understanding of how anxiety develops parents can counter its progress\, second\, parents can take a preventative role in the development of anxiety problems\, third\, there are practical steps parents can take to build resilience. \nThe course teaches: \n\nGreater understanding of the problem of increasing levels of anxiety in children and some strategies for its treatment.\nAn opportunity to become a certified No Scaredy Cats™ practitioner.\n\nPlease note that this is a one day professional development course or a train-the-trainer course\, a small licensing fee is required to train parents. \nWhat’s included: \n\nA note-taking manual for use at the workshop.\nPD points for accreditation with your respective professional associations.\nA certificate of completion for the workshop.\nAn opportunity to become a certified No Scaredy Cats™ practitioner.\n\nTo become a certified parent educator\, you’ll be provided with additional resources needed in order to present to parents. This ensures that our product is only being taught at the highest quality. There are several benefits in becoming certified:\nCertification is renewed each year. certification is $69 per person for the first year\, thereafter there will be a $49 membership fee charged annually to remain a certified parent educator. \n
