SUMMARY:Build Your Own Group Work Resources eWorkshop
DESCRIPTION:If you go to God google you will find heaps of activities\, ice-breakers and group games that you can use in the groups you run. Some of them are pretty darn good. But if you want your activities to hit the mark every time (or most of the time for most of the participants) then devising your own will give them a freshness and relevance that no shop-bought item can deliver. So we will look at producing your own strategies and activities made specifically -for your workshop and your participants’: Physical\, conversational\, ‘theatrical’ (with a small ‘t’)\, reflective\, image-based including use of still image\, photos and video. \nWe will also\, with no need at all for any technical know-how\, go through ways of creating your own audio-visual resources; at a low or no cost. \nWe’ll take a look at:\nOn-line whiteboard animation videos\, using Videoscribe\nOn-line video-making software Animoto. which requires zero editing skills. Upload pics and vids and it all happens for you. But there are a couple of things to bear in mind as you do so\nPrezi: An alternative to Powerpoint\, and a vehicle that can embed both Animoto videos and Videoscribe. \nWhen: Wednesday 16th March 2022 from 9.30am-4.30pm. \nWhere: Online\, delivered via Zoom. You will receive a Zoom link prior to the workshop where you will be able to access the eWorkshop. \nCost: The early bird booking fee (before the 2nd March 2022) is $330.00 (GST included). The payment needs to be completed before the workshop occurs\, for the registration to be fully confirmed. \nFacilitator: Peter Slattery \nMany years ago\, Peter did a B.A. in Social Science and an M.A. in Psychology. He says he thoroughly enjoyed his time at university and freely admits to having learned something. He also says that the past 30 plus years of working with young people\, especially with those having a hard time of life\, have taught him a lot more\, and given him some ideas about how to make use of what he learned at university. Today\, Peter works freelance across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand\, with occasional jaunts into Asia\, North America\, the U.K. and Europe. He continues working with young people in all the places you expect to find them; within all the school systems\, as well as within refuges\, rehab centres\, the many forms that youth programs take and in juvenile justice settings. Having done this work for a long time now\, Peter finds himself in demand as a trainer of workers\, as a supervisor and mentor\, and seems to be constantly invited to speak at conferences both within Australia and overseas. He has published extensively in both the E and the hard-copy worlds. He says he considers himself extremely lucky\, and thinks of his work as an uplifting challenge\, a privilege\, a joy and often\, just a lot of fun. \nFeedback from previous workshops \nWe collect feedback from participants at the conclusion of each workshop we facilitate. SUMMARY:Applied Property Family Dispute Resolution Skills Training
DESCRIPTION:Advance your family dispute resolution (FDR) knowledge and skills for working with families around property and financial matters within a family law context.\nThis one-day workshop is suitable for accredited FDR Practitioners (FDRPs) with experience in providing parenting FDR and an understanding of property and financial matters. \nThe workshop is designed to teach you the specialised skills to work with property and financial matters within a family law environment and facilitate dispute resolution in this context. This training includes a variety of learning methodologies including demonstrations\, discussions and application of skills in role plays supported by experienced coaches. \nRelationships Australia Victoria (RAV) holds specialised expertise in the field of FDR in property and financial matters\, with over 30 years’ experience supporting families and 20 years’ experience providing professional training in this area. \n  \nLearning outcomes\nBy the end of this workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\ndemonstrate solid understanding of how to work as an FDRP with property and financial matters\nconfidently apply skills for working with property and financial matters in FDR\narticulate knowledge of some complexities in property and financial matters in FDR practice.\n\n  \nIdeal for\nFDRPs with experience in managing parenting disputes and some experience in property matters. \nPlease note: this session assumes a basic level of knowledge of the legal principles and an understanding of the four-step process.\n \n  \nAbout the presenter\nMs Wendy Gaddie holds tertiary qualifications in Law and Psychology\, and is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and FDRP. SUMMARY:Webinar: Vicarious Trauma in the Legal Profession
DESCRIPTION:When someone encounters a distressing or overwhelming event during their work\, or processes the emotions involved with their experiences\, vicarious trauma can be the result.\nPsychological trauma experienced within the legal profession can occur at multiple points including but not limited to: \n\nclient phone calls and communications\nreading and writing court reports\nthe experience of attending court and managing clients’ court experiences.\n\nThis workshop will explore different types of trauma and how they can impact staff. Factors that enhance and undermine resilience will be discussed.
