DESCRIPTION:Full-day interactive webinar for child and family specialists working with families and children. Learn simple skills to reduce anxiety and build resilience in children aged 2-12 years old. Certification is available to become a parent educator. \nThe No Scaredy Cats™ workshop is based on three underlying perspectives: first\, by having an understanding of how anxiety develops parents can counter its progress\, second\, parents can take a preventative role in the development of anxiety problems\, third\, there are practical steps parents can take to build resilience. \nThe course teaches: \n\nGreater understanding of the problem of increasing levels of anxiety in children and some strategies for its treatment.\nAn opportunity to become a certified No Scaredy Cats™ practitioner.\n\nPlease note that this is a one-day professional development course\, a small licensing fee is required to train parents. \nWhat’s included: \n\nA note-taking manual for use at the workshop.\nPD points for accreditation with your respective professional associations.\nA certificate of completion for the workshop.\nAn opportunity to become a certified No Scaredy Cats™ practitioner.\n\nTo become a certified parent educator\, you’ll be provided with additional resources needed in order to present to parents. This ensures that our product is only being taught at the highest quality. There are several benefits in becoming certified:\nCertification is renewed each year. certification is $69 per person for the first year\, thereafter there will be a $49 membership fee charged annually to remain a certified parent educator. \n

SUMMARY:Working with a Correctional Cohort: Applying a Strengths-Based Approach
DESCRIPTION:Working with complex individuals who have engaged with Corrections requires a strengths-based approach in order to build clients’ resilience  and help them to successfully integrate and feel supported to move forward.\nOne of the first steps when applying a strengths-based approach is to challenge our own perceptions and ideas and acknowledge clients’ capacity for change. \nThis workshop looks at how to apply a strengths-based approach and engage positively with a Correctional cohort through examining evidence-based practice strategies. \n  \nLearning outcomes\nIn this workshop\, participants will learn: \n\nhow personal perceptions can impact working with a Correctional cohort\nstrategies for applying strengths-based practice with a Correctional cohort\nabout creating capacity for change through resilience-building strategies\nabout the role of psycho-educational programs and strengths-based models\nabout the challenges of working with a complex cohort and understanding how strengths-based practice can build motivation and engagement\nhow to separate empathy from collusion when working with a Correctional cohort.\n\n  \nIdeal for\nProfessionals working with a Correctional cohort and/or supporting families. \n  \nAbout the presenters\nSamantha Winnick\, Taylor Morris and Luke McCord deliver the LINCS program at Relationships Australia Victoria. It is an educational workshop specifically designed for offenders who are subject to a Community Correction Order and is funded through Corrections Victoria. \nLINCS workshops are designed to improve participants’ capabilities and strengths\, using skills-based activities that also identify strategies and supports that are relevant to each module. The activities also highlight the importance of the participants’ internal and external capacity in terms of their social supports\, employment opportunities and access to education. \n  \nWorkshop requirements\nPlease note\, in order to participate in this workshop\, you will need access to the following: \n\n Desktop or laptop computer\n Reliable internet connection\n Headphones\n Microphone/speakers\nWebcam (built in to your computer\, or input separately)\n\n  \nOther information\n\nWhen you click to register\, you will be taken to our new and improved payment gateway.
