DESCRIPTION:Mediation Training Course: CHCSS00142 Mediation Skill Set and National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS)/Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS)*\n*Subject to approval by the AMDRAS Board \n  \nBecome an accredited mediator with our intensive course and assessment.\n\nLearn to facilitate mediation\, a structured and facilitated negotiation process for resolving disputes.\nGain the practical skills needed to be a mediator – an independent and impartial person who assists people in conflict to generate options\, negotiate agreements and resolve disputes.\nDevelop knowledge and skills of the mediation process\, and how to apply these when working with clients\, customers and colleagues\, including across workplaces and community settings.\n\nThis course provides nationally recognised training and assessment for the CHCSS00142 Mediation Skill Set through the Australian Qualifications Framework. \nAfter successful completion of the course and assessment day\, you will be eligible to apply for National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS)/Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS) Accreditation. \nYou will then be ready to take the next step in your career! \nCourse completion also meets the requirements for entry into the CHC81115 Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution. \n\n\nCourse dates\nPlease note: In order to complete the course\, you must attend all sessions listed below. The introductory webinar will be recorded for those who cannot attend the live session. SUMMARY:NMAS - Final Training
DESCRIPTION:AMDRAS has begun its transition\, but you can still become accredited under the existing NMAS rules until 30 June 2025. \nBut you’ll need to act quickly. \nGPD is running one final NMAS training in May. This NMAS training is your last chance to undergo a simpler accreditation process and smoothly transition into the AMDRAS system. \nCompare the difference between NMAS and AMDRAS to understand why you should enrol in this final NMAS training now! \nTraining Course – Duration \nNMAS: A training course of a minimum of 38 hours in duration \nAMDRAS: The Certificate Of Training course lasts a minimum of 45 hours. \n  \nThe Assessment \nNMAS: The applicant performs the role of a mediator in a simulated mediation of at least 1.5 hours with an assessor observing the simulation. Assessment is based on criteria reflecting the knowledge\, skills and ethical principles articulated in the Practice Standards. \nAMDRAS: (1) Written assessment of 1200 words\, designed to consolidate learning and promote reflective practice\, in the form of a test\, journal\, workbook\, or assignment (or any combination of them); AND (2) A standardised simulated mediation\, which must be of 2 to 2.5 hours duration and designed to demonstrate each stage of the mediation process except the intake and preparatory phases. \n  \nAccreditation renewal requirements \nNMAS: A mediator must have conducted at least 25 hours of mediation\, co-mediation or conciliation within the two-year cycle and have undertaken CPD of at least 25 hours. \nAMDRAS: The AMDRAS recognises three levels of accreditation and advancement:  \n(i) Accredited Mediator: An Accredited Mediator must have conducted at least 20 hours of dispute resolution-related practice (e.g.\, as a mediator\, co-mediator\, or third-party dispute resolver.) and have undertaken CPD of at least 25 hours. \n(ii) Advanced Mediator: An Advanced Mediator must have conducted at least 40 hours of dispute resolution-related practice (e.g.\, as a mediator\, co-mediator\, or third-party dispute resolver.) and have undertaken CPD of at least 25 hours. \n(iii) Leading Mediator: A Leading Mediator has the same requirements as an Advanced Mediator\, except that Leading Mediators with 25 or more years of practice as registered practitioners have their CPD and practice requirements reduced by half. \n  \nGrowing your Career – You need to start NOW \nNMAS: Recognised as an accredited mediator on the National Register. \nAMDRAS: To go from being an Accredited Mediator to an Advanced Mediator\, you must have been an Accredited Mediator for at least the previous 4 years\, completed 150 hours of practice\, and completed the Practicum Certificate Course.
