DESCRIPTION:Mediation Training Course: CHCSS00142 Mediation Skill Set and National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS)/Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS)*\n*Subject to approval by the AMDRAS Board \n  \nBecome an accredited mediator with our intensive course and assessment.\n\nLearn to facilitate mediation\, a structured and facilitated negotiation process for resolving disputes.\nGain the practical skills needed to be a mediator – an independent and impartial person who assists people in conflict to generate options\, negotiate agreements and resolve disputes.\nDevelop knowledge and skills of the mediation process\, and how to apply these when working with clients\, customers and colleagues\, including across workplaces and community settings.\n\nThis course provides nationally recognised training and assessment for the CHCSS00142 Mediation Skill Set through the Australian Qualifications Framework. \nAfter successful completion of the course and assessment day\, you will be eligible to apply for National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS)/Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS) Accreditation. \nYou will then be ready to take the next step in your career! \nCourse completion also meets the requirements for entry into the CHC81115 Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution. \n\n\nCourse dates\nPlease note: In order to complete the course\, you must attend all sessions listed below. The introductory webinar will be recorded for those who cannot attend the live session. SUMMARY:Managing Challenging Behaviours
DESCRIPTION:Learn strategies to defuse difficult situations\, manage intense emotions and move towards positive solutions.\nEveryone gets frustrated or angry on occasion\, particularly when they’re under pressure. Most of the time\, they deal with their anger and frustrations in socially acceptable and appropriate ways\, however\, it’s important to know how to respond when they don’t. \nThis workshop will share strategies to defuse situations where clients\, colleagues or community members are exhibiting strong emotions and/or difficult behaviours. We’ll also discuss how to understand your own triggers and have ways to manage your own emotions when using these strategies. \n  \nLearning outcomes\nAt the end of this workshop\, you’ll be able to: \n\nrecognise early warning signs of escalating emotions in others and take steps to prevent conflicts from intensifying\nidentify and address personal emotional triggers that may impact your response\, ensuring calm and professional interactions in challenging situations\nunderstand how and why people react both physically and emotionally to difficult situations\napply strategies to help others manage their emotions\nuse effective communication skills\narticulate and apply conflict management strategies\ndemonstrate an understanding of how to monitor your own reactions and practise self-care.\n\n  \nIdeal for\nA range of workers in community organisations\, social services\, schools or businesses working with clients or colleagues demonstrating challenging behaviours and emotions. \n  \nAbout the presenter\nVictoria Strong is a clinical counsellor and experienced trainer with Relationships Australia Victoria. She has a diverse background working in various settings\, including education\, where she has served as a Disability and Wellbeing Coordinator. Victoria has extensive experience in direct client work with young people and their families\, addressing both simple and complex mental health issues\, including gender diversity\, sexual trauma\, family violence\, and suicidality. \nVictoria’s expertise extends to working with neurodiverse youth and their families\, supported by a deep understanding of the disability sector from lived experience. She holds clinical accreditation with PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia). Her career spans the government\, corporate\, and not-for-profit sectors\, where she has provided coaching\, training\, and support. Victoria is dedicated to enhancing community support systems and empowering others to provide effective sustainable care.\n \n  \nRegistration information\n\nWhen you register\, you’ll be taken to our payment gateway to complete your registration.
