SUMMARY:Engaging fathers in family based programs
DESCRIPTION:This workshop allows workers\, organisations or networks of services to provide more effective programs to men and families. The workshop explores the importance of the fathers’ role in family services and how programs can engage and support this opportunity. \nThe workshop focuses on: \n\nunderstanding what men might want when accessing community services\nusing strengths based approaches when working with fathers\nengaging men’s in child protection and family based programs\nexploring skills used to work with men in a non-threatening way and modelling effective\, respectful and inclusive communication when working with men\nworking with fathers to increase their engagement in their children’s lives\nengaging fathers using the father inclusive practice and the generative framework\neffective ways for female workers to work with fathers.\n\n

DESCRIPTION:The No Scaredy Cats™ workshop is based on three underlying perspectives: first\, by having an understanding of how anxiety develops parents can counter its progress\, second\, parents can take a preventative role in the development of anxiety problems\, third\, there are practical steps parents can take to build resilience. \nThe course teaches: \n\nGreater understanding of the problem of increasing levels of anxiety in children and some strategies for its treatment.\nAn opportunity to become a certified No Scaredy Cats™ practitioner.\n\n\nPlease note that this is a one day professional development course or a train-the-trainer course\, a small licensing fee is required to train parents. \nWhat’s included: \n\nA note-taking manual for use at the workshop.\nMeals and refreshments.\nPD points for accreditation with your respective professional associations.\nA certificate of completion for the workshop.\nAn opportunity to become a certified No Scaredy Cats™ practitioner.\n\n
