SUMMARY:Effective Group Leadership Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Effective Group Leadership is a in-person 2-day workshop which develops the necessary skills for group leaders to facilitate creative group work. The training covers the principles of using creative group work techniques and tools. The focus includes changing group dynamics\, increased understanding of motivational group work models for change and the use of practical creative exercises. All participants receive a Group Leadership Skills Report on their strengths and areas for development plus a copy of Continual Change Groupwork: Being an effective group leader (2018). \nEffective leadership is a powerful phenomenon that uses a group leader’s own self confidence and belief systems. This workshop explores the belief systems and interpersonal communication needed by leaders to create vision\, hope and a common purpose that unites the energy of the group members. The group leader’s subtle body language and self-presentation skills will be explored as they will impact on ultimate achievement of group members’ goals. \nLearning Outcomes – Participants will: \n\nexplore the use of group facilitation skills\nidentify and practice the key skills used in facilitating strengths based group work\nuse experiential learning and creative adult education principles\nuse multi-sensory tools to increase motivation and support change\nrespond effectively to group dynamics and how to promote individual and group change\npractice strengths-based group work when responding to existing trauma\ndevelop skills in using flexibility in leadership roles\nunderstand key tasks/attitudinal responses that leaders attend to in the group\ndevelop their group leadership presence.\n\n

SUMMARY:Toxic Love: Breaking The Patterns of Domestic Abuse eWorkshop-23-June-2022
DESCRIPTION:The workshop is for community services and non-for profit organisations\, domestic violence organisations and charities\, health\, welfare and community workers who want to gain deeper insights into the mechanics behind sustained patterns of abuse and the reason the patterns escalate\, or improve skills in working with victims and domestic violence perpetrators. \nIn attending our 3-hour workshop\, you’ll learn: \n\n\nHow to make a distinction between situational couple violence and sustained pattern of violence 95-98% of abusers are men. \n\n\nIt’s important to make a distinction between these two types of DFV– as they have different root causes and consequences for the victims. \n\n\nHow to recognise pro-active Cobra vs. re-active Pit Bull type of domestic violence perpetrator. \n\n\nYou’ll learn about instrumental proactive and impulsive reactive aggression – as the dichotomy proactive vs. reactive aggression will help you to better understand Cobra vs. Pit Bull typology. \nYou’ll also learn why men using Cobra rarely benefit from attending Men’s Behaviour Change Program. \n\n\nYou’ll better understand what Coercive Control is about. \n\n\nWe will discuss the planned New South Wales Labor Opposition coercive control legislation that they are preparing to introduce in Parliament. \nWhen: Thursday 23rd June from 9.30am to 12.30pm each day. \nWhere: Online eWorkshop via Zoom. You will receive the Zoom details when payment is received. \nCost: The early bird booking is $195.00 (GST incl) if registered before 9th June 2022. His area of expertise is in the use of behavioural science and prevention strategies to help empower boys and men. He has worked and partnered with key stakeholders within the community to tackle a variety of social issues that impact the lives of young men\, including domestic violence\, youth violence\, suicide\, social isolation\, addictions\, unemployment and lack of purpose and direction. In 2015\, Dean founded the Young Men’s Group and Empowering Youth; Changing Lives Program. These initiatives have since made an impact in the lives of over 500 young men from all walks of life across Sydney\, including Fairfield\, Bankstown\, Canterbury\, Mosman\, Maroubra and Botany. \nHis skills in facilitating workshops are highly sought after in the areas of youth and men’s wellness and community development. \n
