Can you help care for children and keep them in their local community?

Anglicare SQ is a non-profit foster care organisation specialising in providing family-based placements for children who are unable to live at home. We are currently seeking Foster Carers from Gympie and surrounding areas to provide care and stability for children and young people aged between 0-17 years.

Ideally, applicants would have a background in working with children with high or complex needs however Anglicare are committed to providing ongoing training and development for the right candidates.  Resilience, empathy and the capacity to provide a supportive and non-judgmental living environment is required.

This is a volunteer role that can provide opportunities for those who are interested in future in the Human Services field – offering experience and accredited training whilst also improving the lives of local children. Reimbursement in the form of a foster care allowance is payable; this is based on the specific needs of individual children and young people. Foster Carers are provided with ongoing support from the child’s care team.

Interested applicants will undertake mandatory training and a suitability assessment, will be required to hold a Blue Card (Working with Children) and complete a Criminal History check.
