Intake can make all the difference to the outcome.

Surprises, withheld information, or last-minute disclosures can derail your mediation, leaving parties suspicious and unwilling to make any decisions.

Intake is the opportunity to build rapport and trust in both the process – and you. It ensures the parties understand the process and their roles. It’s the time to identify the parties’ real interests and the underlying issues or needs that drive them.

In this small-group training we will mentor you through case studies, role play and group discussions. While you may currently do intakes, having an extended knowledge of effective techniques and skills to make your intake session flow more smoothly, determine which topics to explore and when, and define your mediation structure and outcome will give you greater confidence, clarity and purpose in your practice, and help you create a stronger foundation for every mediation that follows.
