Capturing the Child’s Voice in RAQ's Client Outcomes Pilot project

Abstract:

“I want to hug mummy, I want to play with my dad, I want to touch his beard”

These are some of the hopes of the children who visit their parent at one of our Children’s Contact Services and the hopes that we are striving to encapsulate and measure to ensure that our services are supporting the needs of children within our communities. At Relationships Australia Queensland we are currently undertaking a Client Outcomes pilot project within our 6 Children’s Contact Services across the state of Queensland. In this presentation we will share with you the process we have used to collaboratively work with children and their parents and significant others to explore what they want from our service, how we are measuring the achievements and challenges and how this is guides us to continuously transform our service delivery. Our ongoing commitment is to ensure all of our programs are child inclusive – that the voice of the child, their needs in their significant relationships with others and the impacts on the child’s well-being are woven into every session while we support adults to expand their child focused lens in a meaningful and enriching way
