Case Notes and Record Keeping eWorkshop 23-Feb-2023

Keeping good case notes and records can be hard.  It may be very time consuming and some staff may not know what to record or how to record in the most efficient way.

This 3 hour eWorkshop will help in taking some of the pain out of keeping case notes by giving clear guidelines on the how and why of recording as well as giving suggestions on what should be recorded.

The eWorkshop will be useful to: anyone involved in direct service provision who has to keep records as well as case managers; team leaders and supervisors; workers in out of home care and early childhood educators.

The eWorkshop will cover:

  • why keep case notes and records? (this section includes a discussion of professional and legal obligations);

  • what is a record?;

  • common mistakes when keeping case notes and records and how to avoid them how to write in a way that is easy to defend and hard to attack and;

  • how to write case notes and keep records in a way that is respectful of the client and allows the worker to discharge his or her professional responsibilities.

When: Thursday, 23rd February 2023 from 9:30am to 12.30pm. (AEDT)

Where: Online eWorkshop via Zoom. If payment has been received, you will receive the Zoom details in the week prior to the eWorkshop .

Cost: The early bird booking is $195.00 (GST incl) if registered before 9th February 2023, after the 9th February 2023 the Full Price is $250.00 (GST incl). Payment is required before attending the eWorkshop.

To register: Register and complete payment. A Tax Invoice will be emailed to you. The payment needs to be completed before the workshop occurs, for the registration to be fully confirmed.

Facilitator: David Cherry
David Cherry is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist who has been working for over 40 years. David has run training on how to keep case notes and records for over 30 years. David has a particular interest in assisting people to prepare to give evidence as professional witnesses and sees keeping good case notes as part of the preparation process. David has given evidence in court on over 400 occasions in Family Court, child protection, criminal and civil matters.
