Group Leadership Training Course 6-days with in-person and online blocks

An intensive course to help group leaders, managers and team leaders develop the skills to facilitate more interactive and engaging group work in community and counselling settings.

Our training is ideal for you if you want equip yourself with proven techniques to help you balance different views within your group, keep everyone motivated, as well as tools to adapt your management style to suit every situation.

This training is ideal for you if you are a:

• Counsellor or psychologist who runs group sessions or workshops
• Men’s behaviour change workshop facilitator
• Team leader or trainer at a community organisation or charity
• Facilitator at a drug and alcohol recovery support group
• Youth group facilitator
• Educator

This workshop help you develop your leadership and group facilitation skills.

You’ll better understand your own and others’ styles of communication, how to deal with different group dynamics, how to give feedback, and how to run creative group exercises.

We’ll also focus on your confidence, communication style and belief systems – which are all important contributing factors in your ability to successfully create vision, hope and a common purpose to unite your team.

Over the course of two days, you will learn how to:

• Develop your own leadership style and presence
• Improve your body language and presentation skills
• Identify and practice the key skills to bring out the strengths in each member of your group
• Use experiential learning and creative education activities
• Identify ways to increase group member motivation
• Respond effectively to group dynamics and learn how to promote individual and group change
• Understand best approaches when responding to existing trauma in group members

The Group Leadership Training Course involves completing 2*3-day workshop blocks:

• Block 1: 2-Day Effective Group Leadership Course and Working with immediacy and here-and-now (3-days f2f)
• Block 2: Program development and evaluation, Online Effective Group Leadership (2 *1/2-day online workshops – 1-day online) and Working with vulnerable clients (3-days online)

Dates

• Block 1: Wednesday to Friday 13-15 July 2022 from 9.30-4.00pm at RANSW Level 1, 68 Waterloo Road Macquarie Park (face-to-face)
• Block 2: Friday 23 & 30 September from 9.30am to 1.00pm and Thursday and Friday 6-7 October 2022 from 9.30-4.00pm (online)
