Develop skills to help clients to manage conflict, make decisions and support their children.
Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners (FDRPs) support families to resolve disputes, reduce conflict, make decisions regarding parenting or financial arrangements following separation. Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) is a specific process in which the current needs and issues are assessed and a model of intervention is delivered to support the family, including any children involved.
- An interactive course with online and face-to-face blended learning – ask questions, see skills demonstrated first-hand.
- A leading provider of mediation and dispute resolution services for over 30 years, we continue to deliver both funded and unfunded services.
- Learn from highly-skilled, practising family dispute resolution practitioners in an interactive, industry-relevant environment.
Our Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution (CHC81115) equips participants with the skills and knowledge required to become an FDRP. Based on the most current theory and practice, this course enables students to develop competencies to practice under the current Family Law Act (1975) as FDRPs in organisations or private practice.
Graduates of the course can choose to work primarily as FDRPs, or to use their skills and accreditation in addition to their existing qualifications, for example a lawyer who practices in family law, or a counsellor who works with separating families can add the ability to work as an FDRP to their existing skillset.
