Invitation to Annual General Meeting of Conflict Resolution Service
February 28, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm AEDT
FreeKeynote Speaker: Terry O’Connell OAM
The members, staff and board of Conflict Resolution Service (CRS) warmly invites you to its upcoming Annual General Meeting for the 2015-16 reporting period to hear keynote speaker, Terry O’Connell OAM present on the topic of:
‘Now That We Are Being Noticed: Where To From Here? – Importance of Explicit Restorative Practice’
We know that alternative dispute resolution approaches are a well-tested way of managing conflict and disputes. They are now being complemented by restorative approaches. The ACT Government has signalled its intention for Canberra to be declared a ‘Restorative City’[1], and restorative practice is increasingly being recognised as way to respond to conflict in challenging social areas including elder abuse, disability, domestic and family violence, and child protection and out-of-home care.
Please RSVP by 23 February 2017 via Eventbright at www.goo.gl/6Fowk5.
For further details or to RSVP by phone or email contact Amanda Plowright on 02 6180 1888 or amanda@crs.org.au.
[1] On the 10 February 2016 the ACT Legislative Assembly called on the ACT Government to:
“Work towards the declaration of Canberra as a restorative city, which will confirm its commitment to exploring and implementing creative solutions to shared problems using restorative processes and continuing the ACT’s vision for safety and more connected communities”
