Mental Health and Crisis Counselling and Support

National sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling, information, and referral service. Providing free and confidential support 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Beyond Blue provides information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health, whatever their age and wherever they live.

Provides free telephone counselling and information, resources and support for young people with depression or anxiety.

Short-term counselling and emotional and psychological support services for carers and their families in each state and territory.

Maintaining good mental health during COVID-19

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing.

Kids Helpline is Australia’s only free, private and confidential 24/7 phone and online counselling service for young people between the ages of 5 and 25.

Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.

Telephone and online counselling service for men with emotional health and relationship concerns

The MindSpot Clinic is a free national telephone and online clinic for Australian adults with symptoms of anxiety, depression, or chronic pain. Includes resources for staying resilient during COVID-19.

The national peak body representing 143 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) across the country on Aboriginal health and wellbeing issues.

Resources for looking after yourself and others. The Australian Red Cross has recently launched COVID Connect is a free phone service to keep you socially connected. Register online and a volunteer will call, either once or regularly, for a friendly chat.

Provides immediate telephone counselling and support in a crisis.
